Description

After a few days of fog, the plateau finally cleared to reveal a crisp, star-filled night on Mount Buffalo — with Cathedral Rock standing tall in the distance. A full moon was a great help here, casting enough light across the snow-lined road and surrounding scrub to bring the whole scene to life without a torch in sight.

It was around 4:30am and a fair way below zero — somewhere near minus four — but with the sky that clear and the road curving off toward the rock, it was hard to mind the slow numbness creeping into my fingers. Just me, my camera and not another soul around.
