Description

There is something fun about finding a less visited hike like The Monolith in Mount Buffalo National Park. Because this is one of the lesser known tracks, I was lucky enough to have the entire hike completely to myself. The only sound for miles was the satisfying crunch of my boots sinking into the fresh snow as I made my way up to this massive granite giant.

A short hike up a nearby hill left me looking down on this giant fortress like rock. It was peaceful, breath-taking, and only slightly interrupted by the occasional, freezing drop of melting ice falling from the trees directly down the back of my neck!
