Blue Mountains – Canyon Greens

Exploring this hidden canyon was an adventure that required a serious level of commitment! Even in the peak of summer, the water tucked away in these deep gorges is notoriously freezing, so tackling this swim in the middle of winter meant arriving fully prepared. Armed with thick wetsuits and carefully sealed dry bags to protect the camera gear, we plunged into the icy water and swam our way deep into the narrow chasm to see what was waiting for us.

The freezing trek was instantly forgotten the moment we emerged into this spectacular, ferny wonderland. Ethereal shafts of sunlight beamed directly down between the towering canyon walls, cutting through the dark shadows to illuminate the lush, vibrant green ferns clinging to the sheer rock face.
