Steavenson Falls, just outside Marysville in the Yarra Ranges, is one of Victoria’s tallest waterfalls, dropping in a series of long, elegant tiers for over 80 metres into the forest below. An easy, well-formed walking track follows the creek to several viewing platforms, each getting you closer to the sound and spray of the water. Surrounded by towering mountain ash and cool temperate rainforest, the falls are especially powerful after rain and take on a completely different character at night, when they’re softly lit and the mist drifts through the trees.
