Description
Russell Falls is one of the classic waterfall stops in Mount Field National Park—a two-tier curtain of water spilling over dark rock ledges into a ferny, mossy gully. The setting is pure cool-temperate rainforest: tall tree ferns, damp forest floor, and towering swamp gums/mountain ash along the track. The walk is short and easy from the visitor area—about 25 minutes return on a well-formed track. If you go near dusk, you can sometimes spot glow worms along the approach when torches are turned off.
