Description

Description

Star trails are what happens when you point your camera at the night sky for long enough that the Earth’s rotation becomes visible. Instead of stars looking like pin-pricks, they smear into arcs or circles across the frame. Aim near the South Celestial Pole (in Australia, roughly above the southern horizon) and they’ll look more like rings around a pivot point.  This shot was a result of 4 hours of continuous shooting. The foreground exposure was taken during twilight for the details of the light house to be seen in the shot.
