Bellingen is a little riverside town tucked between the coast and the Dorrigo ranges, where green hills fold into a wide valleys. The Bellinger River threads through it all, slow and tea-coloured in places, edged by reeds, farms, and pockets of rainforest. Up at The Promised Land the valley tightens into a lush basin of swimming holes, clear creeks, and rolling paddocks backed by misty mountains. Driving through this area is stunning. Some of the prettiest rural farmland around. It is a great stop on the famous Waterfall Way drive from Coffs Harbour to Armidale (One of NSW’s best adventure drives)
