Mid North Coast – Ellenborough Falls

Ellenborough Falls sits about 85 km inland from Port Macquarie (typically around 1 to 1.5 hours’ drive). It’s surprisingly easy to miss because it’s not on the main coastal highway route.  You have to intentionally detour toward Elands rather than “stumble across it” on a road trip. The final approach can also put people off, with winding backroads and often a long gravel section that makes it feel more remote than it actually is. Many visitors never realise a huge single-drop waterfall is sitting right there in the hinterland. It certainly surprised me in a good way.
