Description

Description

Porcupine Gorge in outback Queensland is a dramatic cut in the landscape. A winding creek has carved a deep, looping canyon through layered rock. The gorge bends in big horseshoe curves, with steep cliff walls and pale rock bands wrapping around the darker channel below. Above the edges, the country is flat, covered in open woodland. You would never guess from far away that the world was about to open up in front of you. There are 2 main vantage points, Gorge Lookout and Pyramid Lookout. Neither have a very far walk and are easily accessed. With a camp site nearby, this is a great location to relax with some great views.
