Description

Description

The Sea Cliff Bridge is a curved coastal bridge on Lawrence Hargrave Drive (Grand Pacific Drive) between Coalcliff and Clifton in the northern Illawarra. It’s 665 metres long, carries two traffic lanes, and includes a shared path for pedestrians (and is commonly used by cyclists too).

It was opened in December 2005 and built as part of a safer realignment of the road along this section of unstable escarpment coastline. Today it’s one of the Illawarra’s best-known stops for ocean views and photos, with a dedicated viewing area where people pull over to look back along the bridge and out over the ocean.
