Description
The overhang at this waterfall comes alive with blue lights after sunset. A very surreal experience and also very difficult to photograph. The worms are super sensitive to light, so care must be taken not to shine any torches at them.
The Blue Mountains are a landscape of towering sandstone cliffs, deep forested valleys, and an incredible network of waterfalls that spill from the plateau into the wilderness below. After rain, the escarpments come alive with flowing water, from the wide drop of Wentworth Falls to the multi-tiered cascades of Katoomba Falls and the hidden, fern-fringed pools found along creeks and walking tracks. Many of these falls are reached by historic paths carved into the cliff faces, where every turn opens to another lookout over the endless blue haze of eucalyptus forest. It’s a place where water, rock, and light constantly reshape the view, and where the sound of falling water is never far from the track.
