Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 18/02/2026
At Custom Canvas (customcanvas.com.au), we are committed to protecting your privacy. We are proudly Australian owned and operated, and we treat your personal memories and data with the respect they deserve.
This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Information We Collect
To fulfill your order and provide a great experience, we collect the following:
- Identity Data: Name, username.
- Contact Data: Billing address, delivery address, email address, and telephone number.
- Transaction Data: Details about payments to and from you and details of products you have purchased from us.
- User-Generated Content: The specific image files you upload for custom printing.
2. How We Handle Your Photos (Custom Uploads)
We understand that the photos you upload are personal. Here is exactly how we handle them:
- Storage & Retention: We retain uploaded image files for a period of 30 days. If you proceed with a purchase, we archive the associated image files for an extended period. This ensures we have the original file on hand to resolve any quality issues or to fulfil re-order requests.
- Human Inspection: As part of our commitment to quality, our design and printing team performs a manual quality check on your files to ensure resolution, cropping, and colour profiles are correct before printing. This means a human will view your image, but strictly for the purpose of quality assurance.
- Privacy: Your photos are yours. We never use your custom uploads for our own marketing, share them on social media, or sell them to third parties without your explicit, written permission.
3. Payment Information
We do not store your credit card details on our own servers. All financial transactions are processed through secure, industry-leading third-party providers such as:
- WooPayments (Credit/Debit Cards)
- PayPal
- Afterpay
These providers process your payment data directly, and their use of your personal information is governed by their respective Privacy Policies.
4. Third-Party Services & Marketing
We use trusted third-party services to help us run our business and improve your experience. We may share limited data (such as your email or browsing behaviour) with:
- Marketing & Analytics: We use third-party analytics and marketing services (such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel) to help us understand website usage, deliver email communications, and display relevant content to you.
- Logistics: To produce and deliver your order, we may share your order details with trusted Australian manufacturing partners and delivery couriers. These partners are strictly based in Australia and are only permitted to use your data to print and ship your specific order.
5. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users. This helps us provide you with a good experience when you browse our website (e.g., keeping items in your cart) and allows us to improve our site. You can choose to disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not function properly.
6. Data Sovereignty (Where your data goes)
We are 100% Australian Printed. Unlike many competitors, we do not outsource your printing to overseas facilities. Your physical name, address, and uploaded image files are processed and printed here in Australia.
Note: While our physical operations are Australian, some digital services we use (like Google, Facebook, or cloud hosting) may store encrypted data on international servers. We ensure these providers adhere to strict data protection standards.
7. Content Guidelines
We respect your creative freedom. However, while we do not police artistic taste, we reserve the right to refuse to print content that is illegal under Australian law.
8. Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of any data that is inaccurate.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal or tax record-keeping requirements).
