Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park sits on Sydney’s northern edge where sandstone ridgelines drop into drowned river valleys. One minute you’re in scribbly gum forest, the next you’re looking over Pittwater, Broken Bay, and headlands from lookouts like West Head.
What surprises people is how many little “secret” falls and watercourses hide in its gullies. After decent rain you’ll find tucked-away cascades along shaded tracks and creek-lines, often paired with swimming holes and ferny rock shelves.
