Taken with frozen fingers, this view was totally worth it. (It can get seriously cold and windy up here in the NSW high country)
Point Lookout is one of the most easily accessible lookouts in New England National Park, and one of the most impressive. From the cliff-edge platform you get a huge, sweeping view over the escarpment, looking down into rainforest valleys and out toward the coast on a clear day. In the morning it’s often wrapped in mist, with cloud spilling through the gullies and the sun lighting up the ridgelines one by one. It feels high, quiet, and a little unreal, like you’re standing on the edge of two different worlds.
