Blackheath sits on the highest part of the Blue Mountains, known for its crisp air, cool-climate gardens, and easy access to some of the region’s most dramatic lookouts. Just outside the village, Govetts Leap opens suddenly onto the vast Grose Valley, where sheer sandstone cliffs drop away to a wilderness of forest far below. From the edge you can see Bridal Veil Falls tracing a long white line down the rock face, while the valley stretches out in layers of blue haze toward the horizon. It’s one of the most breath-taking viewpoints in the mountains.
