Description

Description

Mount Donna Buang rises above the Yarra Valley as one of the closest alpine experiences to Melbourne, reached by a winding road through dense mountain ash forest and cool fern gullies. From the summit, the lookout tower gives wide views across the ranges, and on clear days you can even see the city skyline on the horizon. In winter it becomes a favourite snow-play spot, with light snowfalls dusting the mountain several times each year, usually between June and August. Good covering snow that settles on the ground isn’t constant, but most seasons see a handful of proper snow days that turn the summit into a cold, white landscape for a short time.
